Hi, I'm Kat! I'm a passionate home cook and animal lover. I love to cook delicious and nutritious food for my family and friends. One of my greatest joys is cooking for people and seeing them enjoy the food! I love to experiment in the kitchen and although I have lots of favourite recipes that I make often, I also love to try new recipes on a regular basis. I've been cooking vegetarian and vegan food ever since I met my partner back in 2012 (he has been a vegetarian since he was 13 years old!) A few years into our relationship I did my own research about the meat industry and I decided to go vegetarian. I also make a lot of vegan food too. We have a son together and we are raising him vegetarian (he loves my homemade baked beans!)
Why I started Kat's Veg Kitchen
I've been running the baking recipe website The Baking Explorer since 2012 and although my savoury recipes haven't been quite as popular as my cake recipes, I keep getting recipe requests for what I'm having for my meals when I share them on social media. I've realised that although my cake loving audience want to keep seeing sweet recipes on The Baking Explorer, there is still an interest in my savoury recipes and home cooking, but I need to separate them. So Kat's Veg Kitchen is here!
